Dental Implant Solutions
New York, NY

We can restore your bite, your function and your look with dental implants. Whether you are looking to replace one tooth, several teeth, and even all of your teeth on a single arch, we have surgical options for you. Dr. Del Valle and Dr. Shahgoli can review your oral health, and help you design a treatment plan that is right for you. Depending on the extent of the restoration needed, we can place one, two, or multiple tooth implants and provide you with a firm replacement tooth that you never have to think about again. Our team at Manhattan Maxillofacial Surgery Group is here to help.

Tooth Implants

Patients tend to think of implants as being a replacement option of one implant per tooth. There are actually many options available to restore your smile. A dental implant is a titanium metal post that we insert right into your jawbone. We use titanium because it is a biocompatible metal that your body will not reject and will actually bond with. As your body heals, it will heal around the titanium post, fusing it to the bone. This is a process known as osseointegration, and it means integrating, or bringing it into, the bone. As the post is integrated with the bone, you are left with a firm post that we can then use to restore a single tooth, or use as an anchor to stabilize a dental appliance. Depending on your needs, we may need two or more posts to provide the stability needed to keep an appliance in place.

Attaching Dental Appliances to Your Implants

If you need to replace multiple missing teeth or even an entire jaw full, there are solutions that Dr. Del Valle or Dr. Shahgoli can offer that can provide you a solid set of teeth that won’t shift, come loose or limit your ability to eat the foods you love.

Dental Bridge Retained with Implants

A dental bridge relies on two anchors to attach to, with a false tooth between. If the patient has two healthy teeth to serve as anchors, we then need to permanently alter the two healthy teeth in order to fit dental crowns over the teeth with the bridge of a false tooth. If the patient does not have healthy teeth to serve as an anchor, two dental implants posts, or one post and one tooth, can be placed to create this solution.

Implant Retained Denture

No glues, adhesives, or teeth in a cup while you sleep. Depending on the condition of your jaw bone and gum, we can place as little as two to four dental implants that we can then restore your upper or lower jaw with a set of fixed teeth. This is not your grandparents denture, Implant retained dentures allow you to resume eating as you normally would, speak clearly as you once did, and feel confidant in social situations. With a denture stabilized with implants, you get the feel of your natural teeth.

Bone Loss

Patients who have missing teeth, also have a high chance of having experienced bone loss. Your jaw requires the constant stimulation of tooth roots to stay healthy. Implants provide this stimulation that is needed to stay healthy. When patients experience bone loss, they begin to get the sunken appearance that we often think of with old age, Implants can prevent bone loss and help you have a more youthful appearance. Before getting your implant, we may have to perform a simple bone graft procedure to bulk up the bone, this will depend on the implant and restorative device that you are receiving, there are immediate load implant retained denture devices available.
